 Kelly Needles has been working in the field of project development and energy services field for roughly 15 years. During his tenure, TEG has administered energy efficiency project work in the institutional sector (over 325 projects in schools, hospitals, local governments, private colleges, and non-profit organizations) as well as nearly 300 projects for private sector businesses (Main street/retail, industry, etc.) throughout Iowa and the Midwest. The Energy Group and Kelly are committed to the ideals of “Economic Development Through Energy Efficiency”.
Under his direct supervision, his firm has been a key part of four community-based energy efficiency programs in Charles City, Webster City, Harlan, and Akron, Iowa. Rebuild Webster City was recognized as the Rebuild Partnership Of The Year for calendar year 1998 by the U.S. Department of Energy. Project BEE in Charles City and the Rebuild Webster City effort were each awarded the IDNR Energy Leadership Award. He was also involved in developing programs in Indianola, Ottumwa, Pella, Muscatine, and Hancock County. Kelly also served as part of a team that is working to expand the Rebuild Webster City program to other communities in Hamilton County.
Kelly has directed and provided oversight to over $10 million in construction at various project sites most recently including the Webster City Day Care Coalition project (two day care center renovations) as well as the renovation of the Clinton County Courthouse and many school district renovation projects in Iowa.
Kelly has served on the board of directors of the Iowa Association of Energy Efficiency, a member of the Association of Energy Services Professionals. He has served as a member of the Webster City Association of Business and Industry and is a certified key accounts representative through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Assocation’s Certified Key Accounts Executive program (CKAE).
